Attractions of the bathing area

We'd like to present the following attractions in the bathing area to you in a bit more detail:

Water aerobics.

You can exercise your muscles and joints in a gentle but effective way six times a day in the large pool of thermal healing water. No previous experience is required and you're warmly invited to take part in the free exercise sessions.

Kneipp courses take place at our Kneipp basin every day. Whether you should start with hot then cold water or vice versa, whether near to or far from the heart first – you'll learn all this and more in our daily Kneipp course.

Place: Kneipp basin (indoor area)
Duration: approx. 10 min.
Times: daily at 10.45 a.m.

The counter current pool

In the outdoor area of the Claudius Therme is where you'll find the counter current pool – the place where you can do something good for your body with refreshing ease. Bathing in the circular current of water is not just fun but also good for your circulation as well as being invigorating. The only prerequisite for using it is that you have to be a good swimmer and not require any swimming aids to keep you above water. Otherwise you'll just have to let yourself float.

The counter current pool system runs at two different levels twice an hour: Level I just before the top of every hour (a little less strong), Level II (a bit stronger) shortly before every half hour.

Effect: stimulates the circulation, refreshing
Recommended duration of stay: 5 min.

The sitting pool

All pools at the Claudius Therme are supplied with state-accredited healing water known for its beneficial effect. But only in the sitting pool does the water enter unfiltered in its original form, its high iron content giving it its distinct red colour. The high proportion of iron in this pool boosts the therapeutic effect of the bathing. This means that people with rheumatic complaints in particular, who have limited movement when swimming or doing water aerobics, benefit most from bathing in this pool.

Temperature: 36.0 °C
Recommended duration of stay: 10 min.

Underwater music – bathing in light and music

We are delighted to be able to offer you a new and very special way of relaxing – with underwater music. In a bathing area flooded with light, reflections, colours and underwater sounds, your body and soul will be transported to another world with visual and acoustic impressions. Our senses perceive the world about us differently in water than on land: sound vibrations in water surround us at a 360 degree angle and enter the ears through our skin and bones. Sensitive vibration patterns activate the body from the inside and outside, stimulate the senses and result in a connection to the soul. The water creates physical contact with the music. Listening with the entire body puts people into a deep and long-lasting phase of mental and physical relaxation and reflection. Even long after the visit, you will feel in harmony with your body.

You can enjoy the underwater music from 8.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday and at weekends and public holidays from 9.00 a.m. to 11.45 p.m. in a separate pool in the indoor area of our bathing hall. Throughout the week, this pool is used during the daytime by people who have been prescribed therapeutic exercises at the Claudius Therme by their doctor.

Effect: deeply relaxing and soothing
Recommended duration of stay: 15-20 min.
