Recommendation for healthy sauna bathing
A sauna comprises the following basic procedure:
- Showering
- Heat phase
- Slow cooling
- Relaxation phase
Foot spas, massages or aerobics represent a pleasant addition. The exact procedure is determined by your feeling of well-being.
- The sauna is not the place for competitions. The maxim "less is more" applies in this case. You may leave the sauna at any time. For inexperienced sauna guests, the heat phase in the 80° sauna should not exceed 15 minutes.
- The heat phase is followed by cooling. This is best accomplished by first leaving the sauna and going into the fresh air for a few minutes. Subsequent refreshment with ice or water should always be carried out from the feet towards the heart. Unless you suffer from arterial hypertension or are at risk from heart attack, the plunge pool is the ideal method of refreshment after showering.
- The sauna's actual recuperation characteristic takes effect in the subsequent relaxation phase. Allow at least as much time for relaxation as you previously spent in the heat.
- The amount of fluid lost during sauna bathing may be several litres. In order to therefore avoid endangering your health, the consumption of a sufficient volume of fluids is absolutely vital. The consumption of alcohol or coffee between saunas is not to be recommended.
- Before visiting the sauna, we recommend that guests suffering from cardiovascular diseases first consult their GP.
We wish you a great deal of peace and relaxation in our sauna area.
